Area on Campus Covered in Forest Vegetation (meter2)

At Universitas Andalas, a substantial portion of the campus is covered by dense forest vegetation, encompassing approximately 2,500,000 square meters of land. This expansive green area is primarily composed of two major forest zones: the Biological Education and Research Forest (HPPB) and the Forest for Special Purposes. Together, these areas play a vital role in supporting the university’s ecological diversity while serving as essential sites for environmental research, conservation, and education.

Extending across 2,500,000 square meters with a perimeter of 7.04 kilometers, these forested landscapes constitute over 35% of the university’s total land area. Such extensive green coverage highlights Universitas Andalas’s steadfast commitment to sustaining natural ecosystems, preserving biodiversity, and integrating environmental stewardship into its broader campus development strategy.
