Universitas Andalas demonstrates a strong commitment to environmental preservation and sustainable campus planning, with approximately 98% of its total land area (equivalent to 4,287,100 square meters) allocated to open and green spaces. These extensive natural areas encompass a range of ecological and educational zones, including the Biological Education and Research Forest (HPPB), Forests for Special Purposes, and other open landscapes distributed throughout the campus.
In addition to these conservation areas, the university also maintains applied agricultural and research sites such as the Digging Farm, Edu Farm, Arboretum, and dedicated zones for the Cultivation of Medicinal Plants.
