Security And Safety Facilities
Universitas Andalas places a strong emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of its entire academic community through a range of comprehensive protection measures. The campus is equipped with CCTV cameras and fire extinguishers, which are strategically installed across key buildings to provide continuous monitoring and enable rapid emergency response. The rectorate building is fitted with CCTV units on every floor to ensure constant surveillance, while the university library is equipped with five cameras, one on each level, to maintain safety throughout its five floors. Furthermore, all 16 faculties are equipped with both CCTV systems and fire extinguishers, guaranteeing that every academic unit remains well protected. These installations extend beyond academic buildings to various parts of the campus, creating a secure environment that supports academic activities and community well-being.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Universitas Andalas implemented several public health and safety measures, including the installation of handwashing stations and occupational health and safety (K3) posters at the entrances of each building, initiatives that continue to be maintained today. Each building is also equipped with a clearly displayed emergency contact list for quick access in case of emergencies. Outside the buildings, the campus provides a designated assembly point that functions both as an evacuation area and a security checkpoint to monitor access to campus grounds. Security posts are strategically located across critical areas to maintain order and ensure rapid response when needed.
Moving forward, Universitas Andalas remains committed to continuously strengthening its safety and security systems, striving to develop a more integrated, responsive, and resilient campus environment.
