Integrated Solid Waste Treatment Center (PPST)

Andalas University has operated an Integrated Solid Waste Treatment Center (PPST) since 2014. PPST Unand is a waste management facility that recycles inorganic waste into marketable compost and manages organic waste into compost through a waste bank system. The compost produced is not only used for its own purposes but is also sold to the general public. The waste bank manages plastic, paper, and metal waste. This waste is then sold to third parties (informal sector).

Compost House GREEN ANDALAS

The compost house at PPST consists of several chopping and sieving machines that are useful in the process of making compost fertilizer.

Besides having a compost house, PPST also has a waste bank called enviro waste bank. The enviro waste bank has customers who come from lecturers, students, and residents around the PPST location.
