Water Conservation Program Implementation

Universitas Andalas has 18 embungs strategically located throughout the campus area. An embung is a retention pond that collects rainwater runoff from the surrounding area and provides multiple benefits, including water supply, flood control, erosion prevention, and water storage. In addition, embungs contribute to groundwater recharge and help reduce heat around the campus. One new embung has been completed, further strengthening the university’s commitment to water conservation and environmental sustainability.
