Initiative to Reduce Private Vehicle on Campus

Description:
- Starting January 2023, the Padang city government operate the Trans Padang bus corridor six on the city center-Unand Campus route. The Trans Padang bus route in the Limau Manih campus area is via the North to South outer ring route (clockwise). To serve the reverse movement, Unand operates a free shuttle bus (campus bus), which only operates in the campus area. The synergy of bus availability for both directions of movement ensures the comfort of bus users so that they do not need to switch to using private vehicles. The Trans Padang K6 bus operates 10 buses with a bus capacity of 40 passengers. Buses operate from 06.00-20.00. On average, buses make 3-4 trips.
- The number of Unand administrative staff is quite large, namely 1903 people. Three employee buses with a carrying capacity of 25 people each help reduce the use of private vehicles.
- In order to reduce the use of private vehicles, Andalas University will implement a paid parking system on campus starting in 2026. This initiative is marked by the establishment of a team to select a vendor that will manage the smart parking system, as stated in the Rector’s Decree Number 2075/UN16.R/KPT/IV/2025, appointed a Selection Team for prospective partners in parking management services within the university environment.
